We know that for after-school programs to effectively provide safe havens for study, creative and engaging alternatives to gangs, drugs, alcohol and teen pregnancy and the "peace of mind" working parents need to be productive on their jobs, program leaders must be guided by so much more than simply a heart for helping kids.  

Our AfterSchool Leadership Academy, an innovative, fun, engaging, interactive AND tuition-free non-profit training institute and networking resource, leverages the power of community partnerships to help neighborhood after-school program leaders with heart gain the business skills they also need to build and sustain effective programs for our kids.

Through our Academy, we offer after-school program leaders and staff from our City Scholars AfterSchool Network® (CSAN), a dynamic partnership of ten (10) emerging and established non-profit, neighborhood after-school programs serving more than 7,000 inner-city youth throughout Los Angeles County, the tools, strategies, on-going professional development, coaching, consulting and critical networking opportunities with peers, grantmakers and community leaders that they need (but so often can't afford) to build and sustain quality neighborhood after-school programs.
